Planning an electronic message center in Fond du Lac starts with two separate decisions: whether this product format fits the communication goal, and whether the proposed property can support it. The page does not represent a separate office in Fond du Lac.
When this format fits a project in Fond du Lac
Electronic Message Centers are considered for scheduled announcements, promotions and community messages. Fond du Lac identifies signs among the improvements that require permit review and provides a dedicated sign application. Large screen video display proposals may involve an additional planning process.
Questions for the site review
- How frequently will messages change?
- Who will approve and publish content?
- What cabinet and pixel pitch fit the viewing distance?
- Can the existing sign structure and electrical service be reused?
- Which municipality and zoning district govern the property?
- What drawings, structural details or electrical information will the reviewing authority require?
Local approval starting point
Use the City of Fond du Lac permits and fees as an official starting point. A nearby address can fall under a different municipality, especially within Fond du Lac and nearby project locations such as North Fond du Lac, Rosendale, Oakfield and Eden, so confirm the authority for the exact parcel.
Keep the product and location decisions connected
Compare the statewide Electronic Message Centers product page with the broader Fond du Lac service-area page. For road-facing projects, review nearby WisDOT data with the Wisconsin traffic count tool; the nearest count is not automatically the correct road segment.
